Prada presents the Minimal-Baroque Sunglasses
Prada launches the new Minimal-Baroque eyewear collection. The idea takes itsinspiration from the spring/summer 2011 womenswear collection and representsa true creative fil rouge.Minimal-Baroque is not just a collection but also an actual structured project dividedinto several phases.
For starters we have the Deluxe eyewear from the show witha decidedly baroque style, homage to colour, to fun and above all originality. An accessory to be produced as a limited edition and distributed from February in Prada boutiques, selected department stores and ILORI eyewear stores, luxeaddresses where elegance, quality and design offer a very special experience.
To underscore the uniqueness and creativity which lie behind the production ofthese accessories Prada has opted to given an account of eyewear through the workof three illustrators. Ivo Bisignano, Marcela Gutierrez and Andrea Tarella have givenan interpretation of the exits of the Milan and Beijing shows through their personalvisions and according to their methods of illustration: from watercolours to pastelsand acrylics. The typical techniques of the illustrators are a good representation of the style idiom of this eyewear.Curves, friezes and bas-relief effects are the main design features of the Minimal-Baroque. The colour combinations: white/blue, white/black and white/honey withthe choice of acetate, seamlessly coordinate the lines of the frame front and armssculpted into rococo curls, whose decoration is the distinctive feature.
During the season Prada is going to launch two further models linked to theMinimal-Baroque sunglasses project. Two new icons which are to have the samedesign matrix yet with different creative development. The shapes are to becomesofter, offering a wider and more intense array of colours
